The programming presented here was developed by the CrossFit Kids Staff and field-tested in gyms across the country. The 10 foundational movements of the CrossFit Kids program will be covered in a compressed fashion while still adhering to their age-appropriate inclusion; the intention is to provide a broad base of capability and capacity over the course of two months. Ideally, each of the foundational skills—introduced here for one week—will subsequently be the focus in a four-to-six-week period.
As implemented by our staff, we will use the basic CrossFit Methodology with the overlaying of CF Kids and age and developmentally appropriate movement and tasks that will allow the participants to access this course safely with fundamental goals and tracking toward a base level of fitness and setting up future goals for each athlete.
This base programming will in general start with a warm-up, WOD, and finish with an active game that will prolong the active heart rates, but also act as a fun carrot to focus through the workouts.
